# Punks 2: Elite Ape Special Editions

Going even further in using the revolutionary opportunities offered by NFTs, the Elite Ape special editions were historic in their use of the commercial rights afforded to NFT owners.  

8 Bored Ape Yacht Club owners won a community-driven tournament for the right to star as characters in Punks Comic #2. These Elite Apes made use of their commercial licensing rights to take their turn on alternate covers, with their own smart contracts directing royalties back to the Ape owners. Punks Comic and the BAYC will be forever linked by this revolution in cross-collection collaboration, and Chris Wahl's 8 stunning renditions of the Apes will forever stand as an early monument to the possibilities afforded to NFT owners and communities by Web3.

While each of the Elite Apes deservedly received the genesis #1 mint of their respective comics, the Founders DAO proudly holds the complete set of Serial #2's of these 8 Elite Ape Special Editions.
